Sainsbury's were delighted to have SYCT represented on their day of celebration. But that wasn't all. After the ribbon was cut, Gurshinder Mann, the Floor Manager for the store, presented SYCT with a cheque for £1300.
While receiving the donations, SYCT were able to meet and greet a former youth member, Hannah Baptiste, who is now an employee of Sainsbury’s and has since gone on to realise her passion for football and is determined to take it further!
Sainsbury’s have worked closely with SYCT since summer 2012. The two have engaged in several fundraising events, including bag collecting, carol singing and food donations for a summer BBQ project.
Some of the new features to the store were an upgrade to their produce section with new display units, more self-service tills and a new deli counter, including a pizza section. They have upgraded their café by providing fresh sandwiches and cakes, improved their pharmacy department, and by way of customer feed back, provided better public toilets.
