We are delighted to announce that Streatham Youth and Community Trust has been chosen as the Charity of the Year by Sainsbury’s Streatham Common following a public vote. Being chosen as Charity of the Year is a real honour especially as we were previously chosen in 2011. We are looking forward to the many opportunities which will present themselves in the upcoming year. Following initial meetings we plan on holding a number of awareness and fundraising events. We are also looking forward to Sainsbury’s staff volunteering on a few of our projects.

![]() Local children and young people enjoyed a fun filled summer at our three venues. Activities included a Drama Camp, Sports Camp, Football coaching and tournaments as well as the fun at the Adventure Playground. Streatham Vale Adventure Playground ran drop-in sessions for those looking for more informal play. Games included treasure hunt, slip n’ slide, bush craft, den building, tree swings, dress up, cooking, games, art, and a bouncy castle! The Drama Camp was in collaboration with Ovalhouse Theatre. Based at the Wellfield Centre, it gave a wide age range of children the skills to create their own play. A fantastic performance for friends and family was held in the professional theatre space at Ovalhouse Theatre. The Sports Camp gave young people the opportunity to gain skills and develop physical fitness. Specialist coaches Sports included athletics, taekwondo, football, cricket, trampoline and badminton. A new addition to the summer activities was a free hot lunch cooked and served by staff, Trustees and volunteers from local churches including St Leonard’s Streatham. A big thank you to all for you support. We would also like to thank Young Lambeth Coop for their support. |
