Have you seen something strange at Conyers Road? Maybe… a Cow? You have! Good.  Wanna know why it’s there?

SYCT loves to get the community and their members involved in activities and events, and this time we’ve got a cow.  You may have noticed that she is a blank canvas, a colourless bovine in need of your creative design.

Bellway Homes, who are building new homes on Valley road, The Old Dairy, want Streatham’s help to design cow hide for three life-size acrylic cows.  The colourful cows will then be built-in to the hoarding, outside the development for all to see.

This competition is open to everyone, but their cows don’t want any old splash of colour, they want to reflect the community.  They want you to design something that inspires you about your local area, whether it be the people or the surrounding nature.

Importantly, three winners will receive a framed version of their cow as well as a brand new Kindle Fire!

Entry forms are needed and can be downloaded via their website: http://bellwayattheolddairy.co.uk/ .Once complete, send your entry to this address:  Kirsty Armstrong, Oracle Group, 1st Floor, 9 Cheam Road, Ewell, Surrey KT17 1SP

Or email your design to: kirsty@oraclepr.co.uk

The deadline for entries is Monday 25th November
Winners will be announced on 2nd December.
The winning hide designs will be unveiled at The Old Dairy on 6th January 2014.

SYCT has opened their doors to a new project that will be organised and produced by the Old Vic Community Company.  They want young people like you to voice your thoughts and opinions on the issues surrounding the current housing crisis in London.

A professional team from the Old Vic theatre needs your help and want you to take part in their research workshop, which will get you involved with their production, understand what they are about and what they want to achieve with you.

They aim to get 200 individuals taking part in workshops, projects, bootcamps, pop-up performances and inspiring theatre productions over a three year period.

If you are 16 and over you can take part in this exciting project by coming down to the Wellfield centre on Monday 28th October (that’s next Monday!). Get there for 6:30pm to get two hours worth of active participation.  You can either book yourself in for free online at http://www.oldvicnewvoices.com/community/ or turn up on the day!

Come down.  Take part.  Get involved.

One of our lucky members had a special invite train alongside Millwall football club.  Molly Gumble, who is eleven years old, was able to use her skills to the delight of the club that they asked if she would attend regular training sessions!

Millwall play in the London South East Region of the FA Girls Elite performance pathway.  They are grouped with Arsenal, Chelsea, Gillingham, Brighton, Norwich, Colchester and Middlesex FA.  Each team will play a home and away game along with eight out of region fixtures.

Molly joined our club when SYCT took over provisions at Streatham Vale adventure Playground, and she has shown her interest in sports by taking part in regular cricket, pool and table tennis matches.
