 On Monday 4th November, SYCT held their Annual General Meeting at the Wellfield Centre, where members of the youth centre, trustees, staff, volunteers and company representatives were able to hear what had been going on in last twelve months and hear plans for 2014. The night kicked off with Cristina Fernandez (Chair) thanking staff members for their dedication during some difficulties. She was proud of SYCT youth members, who showed a keen interest in youth work by helping and volunteering over the summer. There was also mention of the impact SYCT want to have on the wider community. Angie Foran (CEO) also shared her vision and plans for the future, having already launch a competition to design a new logo for SYCT. A video was shown of the Summer Project 2013, before Mark Wood (Principal Youth Worker) talked in greater detail about some of the projects, such as the London Football Journey, Cricket for Change and London Youth. This was all before awarding the members with medals, trophies and certificates for winning in several of the competitions over the summer. Simon Edgell (Project Leader) spoke about ‘Just Like Us’, which is an adult support group. They help meet the needs of parents and adults so that they can fulfil their parental responsibilities. Cristina presented more certificates of recognition before calling the event to a close with light refreshments.  |
