The Covid-19 crisis has placed great stress on the mental and physical health of children and young people of Streatham. They have expressed fear, anxiety and a reluctance to go outside of their own homes. Many are from families who were fully physically isolated for many weeks because family members were in high risk categories. In order to support these needs we are running a full range of Summer activities to support the health and well being of local children and young people. This includes Sport and Drama Camp, Play activities, and sessions to help them transition back to school in September.
How we will support local children and young people
The programme is designed for all ages, is free to attend and includes lunch. This is very important as many of the families find it difficult to feed their children even with some extra Government money going towards high need families. We have carefully designed the activities to adhere to social distancing guidelines to ensure safety for both children and staff. In order to continue supporting local children and young people we need to ask for help from our neighbours.
Our request to our neighbours
This Summer SYCT needs to raise additional funds to continue providing the highest quality youth service in Streatham. We would like to ask you to consider making a donation to help local children enjoy some of the Summer activities which can make such a difference to their lives. We do hope you can help.
